The convictive power of the Holy spirit plays a very important role in salvation. Even after the word is preached, confessions are made, the holy spirit aligns, admonishes, rebukes and convince us to renew our minds continually. There’s a level of purity and a level of holiness that goes far deeper in your heart than what anyone will ever see. That is what God’s wanting to get to on a regular basis, not just writing the law in a book or stone inscription but to reach way down deep into your heart to constantly refine it and purify it. That’s what keeps you real with Him.

But what I find the most amazing is that the Holy Spirit convicts everyone, even those who are not believers.
You might be a faith-skeptic or even completely disinterested in all things God; yet, the Holy Spirit has somehow led you

*Conviction is an Opportunity for Growth:
When the Holy Spirit convicts you of something wrong, it means God wants you to make it right. When we acknowledge our shortfalls before God.
Many interesting turn of events happened around the time Jesus was arrested and crucified. Let’s consider the cases of these two disciples – Peter and Judas. Both erred around the time of Jesus’ arrest. Judas betrayed Jesus, Peter denied Jesus three times. Both Peter and Judas were convicted (compare Luke 22:60-62 and Matthew 27:3-5). However, Peter embraced his conviction, got restored, and later became the pillar in the early church. Judas did not embrace his conviction and went on to commit suicide. It is clear who each of these disciples listened to.

Having understood the ministry of the Holy spirit in the area of conviction (sin, righteousness and Judgement), Paul’s encounter at Philippi in Macedonia where Paul exorcised a demon-possessed slave girl explains alot.

Acts.16.17 She started following Paul around, calling everyone’s attention to us by yelling out, “These men are working for the Most High God. They’re laying out the road of salvation for you!” (MSB)
If we now stand on the content of the message of this demonic spirit, we should argue that what the slave girl was screaming about is correct. “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to you the way of salvation” indeed. Taking this fact in mind, what was Paul so annoyed about? Was he literally, annoyed with the slave girl? And if the “message” was correct according to Paul, why he was so fuss about performing this exorcism?
First of all, we need to clarify that the words of the slave girl were not triggered by the Holy Spirit. We already know that Prophecy is classified under the vocal Gifts of the Holy Spirit (1Cor 12:10). Satan has a counterfeit gift for every true gift of the Spirit. This slave girl had a counterfeit demonic gift at work and Paul by the help of the Holy Spirit felt this spiritual discernment. The Holy Spirit acts as a prosecuting attorney who exposes evil, reproves evildoers, and convinces people that they need a Savior.
    Three things it proves
    a) conviction of sin is not merely knowledge of right and wrong; it is not an assent to Scripture’s teaching about sin. Many people read the Bible and are fully aware that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). They may know that “no immoral, impure, tricky or greedy person . . . has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ” ( (Psalm 9:17). Yet, for all their knowledge, they continue to live in sin. They understand the consequences, but they’re far from being convicted of their sins.
    B) Paul harnessed the Gift of discernment in other to rebuke the demon out of her.
This is a special Spirit-given ability to distinguish between spirits, or to know whether a particular word, action or motive has its source in God, sinful flesh or satan.
    C) When the Holy Spirit convicts people of their sin, He represents the righteous judgment of God (Hebrews 4:12). There is no appeal of this verdict. The Holy Spirit not only convicts people of sin, but He also brings them to repentance (Acts 17:30)

In Old Testament times the Holy Spirit came upon individuals for empowerment for service, but not for salvation.
An amazing life that was marked by success and favor in all ramifications was found in Daniel. What made this possible?

Dan 5:12 Inasmuch as an excellent spirit, knowledge, understanding, interpreting dreams, solving riddles, and explaining enigmas were found in this Daniel… NKJV
King Darius realized there was more to Daniel than mere intellect. Daniel interpreted dreams. Prayed with effectiveness. He understood visions. He flowed in prophecy. He experienced the Spirit of faith and the working of miracles that even shut hungry lions’ mouths from consuming him when he was thrown into a lions’ den.

    The Spirit on David
When God chose David to replace Saul as king over Israel, the prophet Samuel anointed him with oil, “and the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon David from that day forward” (1 Samuel 16:13). This is when he received the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said in Matthew 23:43: “He asked them, “How is it then that David, inspired by the Spirit, calls him ‘Lord’”

    The Spirit on Moses
The Spirit of God also rests on Moses (Numbers 11:16-17, 25). The Spirit is the key to his relationship with God, as well as his ability to lead
When the people worship the golden calf, God is angry. He will forgive, but says he will send an angel instead of his own Presence.

How else can one fully appreciate the gravity of Jesus’ mission to become our Savior and High Priest unless he or she understands that Jesus completed it as a human being?

Ofcourse He identify with man’s suffering because He lived as a man. He knows what it’s like to feel pain, to hunger and taste, drained, physically weak, alienated, misunderstood, betrayed, deserted, under-appreciated, stressed, mocked, tortured. He understand the entirety of the human condition. Therefore the high priest was “taken from among men” (Hebrews 5:1).
The author of Hebrew puts it this way “That’s why he had to enter into every detail of human life. Then, when he came before God as high priest to get rid of the people’s sins, heb 2:7(MSB). Note: not “some things,” but “all things.”
By the virtue of his death and ascension he became our advocate, our high priest interceding and mediating for us.
Do not forget We have a great high priest who has gone to live with God in heaven
    Hebrews 4:14
As our high priest: He silences the accusations of Satan
He made available power of grace to all those who choose to follow Him and live overcoming lives. Christ, through the ministry of the Holy Spirit reaches out to all people who have committed the keeping of their souls to Him. He has won the right to intercede in the lives of His followers. He breaks through the power with which Satan has held them captive, developing within His faithful followers a strengthened will to resist sinful tendencies

Adam and Eve’s decision in the Garden of Eden severed the relationship between God and man because of this, mankind was unable to go directly into God’s presence
This is where the priests’ role came into play.
*Jesus brought mankind closer to God by his death, burial, resurrection and ascension *Jesus Christ was the once-and-for-all sacrifice who paved the way for forgiveness of sin and an open relationship with God the Father. we can now–without hesitation–walk right up to God, into “the Holy Place.” Jesus has cleared the way by the blood of his sacrifice, acting as our priest before God. The “curtain” into God’s presence is his body. Heb 10:19(MSB)
His role as a high priest gave us assurance and boldness Heb.10.22

We now come to the dialogue of Jesus and the Jews in which he exclaims “I AM the bread of life.
”John.6.30 They waffled: “Why don’t you give us a clue about who you are, just a hint of what’s going on? When we see what’s up, we’ll commit ourselves. Show us what you can do.
They actually sort for manner from above. And this is a problem we’ve seen not only in the Gospel, also in the world today. Most people are more interested in the miracles than in the one who does them. They are more interested in filling their bellies than in feeding their souls. Like you mentioned Jesus as the bread of life nourishes people, spiritually and he also satisfies the deep spiritual longings of their souls. Manner, Bread and man’s mere words will never do (man shall not live by bread alone) so God sent his only begotten son as “The bread of life, The Word, the living proof.

    John 3:16
This scripture unveils the fact that God who intensely love the world sent his son, Jesus to die for humanity in order to redeem mankind.Jesus is the unique son of promise descended from the seed of Abraham as the Messiah, the anointed one. He is also the only one in history whose birth was precipitated by the overshadowing of the holy spirit.

    John 10:30.
As I listened to Jesus’s claim as been taught, I thought about this scripture (John 10:30)
Jesus is claiming that He and God are unified as one. Christ always did the Father’s will; he and God have “one purpose

    John 8:23
Jesus claims to be able to speak of things which others on earth have never seen. He also pointed out his origin(heaven) and is not bound by the sins and errors of His detractors
