Whenever I think about the coming of Christ, I experience both excitement and deep reflection. The promise that Jesus Christ will return again is one of the greatest hopes of every believer. It reminds me that this world, with all its troubles and struggles, is temporary. It also reminds me that one day Christ will establish His kingdom in righteousness and peace.

One important thing we were taught in Eschatology is that the judgment of believers will not be about sin, because Jesus Christ has already paid the price for our sins through His death and resurrection. For those who are genuinely saved, condemnation has been removed through Christ. This understanding gives me confidence and assurance in my relationship with God. However, we were also taught that believers will still appear before God to give account of their works and stewardship while on earth.

Whenever I think about this, it challenges me seriously. I begin to reflect on how I am using the gifts, talents, opportunities, and resources God has entrusted to me. God has given every believer different abilities and spiritual gifts for the purpose of serving Him and impacting others positively. Some people are gifted in teaching, singing, leadership, encouragement, evangelism, writing, or helping others. The question that always comes to my mind is whether I am truly maximizing the grace and gifts God has placed inside me.

The Bible teaches that believers will appear before the judgment seat of Christ, not for condemnation, but for rewards according to their works. This makes me realize that God is interested not only in what we do, but also in our faithfulness, sincerity, and obedience. Sometimes people focus too much on earthly achievements and forget that heaven values faithfulness more than popularity or material success. Thinking about Christ’s coming reminds me that my life should count for eternity.

I also think about the parable of the talents in the Bible, where servants were given different talents by their master. The faithful servants were rewarded because they used what was entrusted to them wisely, while the unfaithful servant was rebuked for doing nothing with his talent. This lesson speaks deeply to me because it shows that God expects productivity and faithfulness from His children. I do not want to waste the gifts, time, and opportunities God has given me.

Another thing that comes to my mind is the need for holy living and spiritual readiness. Since no one knows the exact time of Christ’s return, believers are expected to remain watchful and committed to God. The coming of Christ should not produce fear in believers, but it should inspire seriousness, dedication, and spiritual discipline. It reminds me to pray more, serve God faithfully, and live in a way that honors Him daily.

The coming of Christ also gives me hope. In a world filled with suffering, injustice, disappointment, and hardship, the promise of His return assures me that evil will not continue forever. One day Christ will reward the faithful, wipe away tears, and establish perfect peace. This hope strengthens my faith during difficult times.
Finally, whenever I think about the coming of Christ, I feel encouraged to remain faithful and purposeful. I want my life to make an impact in the kingdom of God. I want to use every gift and opportunity God has given me wisely so that when Christ returns, I will not be ashamed but will hear the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”

In conclusion, the coming of Christ is not only a reminder of future glory but also a call to responsibility and faithful stewardship. It encourages believers to live holy lives, remain spiritually prepared, and use their God given gifts effectively while on earth. Above all, it reminds me that every believer will one day give account to God for how they lived and served Him.

Hi Convenant, One thing I found very interesting in your write-up was your emphasis on spiritual readiness. I agree that the doctrine of Christ’s return should influence how believers live daily. I also appreciated your point about hope, because eschatology is not meant to create fear in believers but to strengthen faith and perseverance.

When I think of the coming of Christ, my heart is filled with deep joy, hope, and anticipation. The return of the Lord is not a fearful thought to me; rather, it is one of the greatest sources of comfort and encouragement in my walk with God. In a world filled with pain, uncertainty, sin, disappointment, and suffering, the promise that Jesus Christ will return gives my life meaning and perspective. It reminds me that this present world is not the end of the story and that a glorious future awaits those who belong to Him.
Personally, whenever I meditate on the return of Christ, one of the first things that comes to my mind is the end of sorrow and troubles. Life on earth is filled with burdens. People battle sickness, loss, rejection, fear, injustice, and countless struggles. Even believers sometimes experience moments of weakness, persecution, and heartbreak. However, the coming of Christ reminds me that a day is coming when all these things will finally pass away. Revelation 21:4 says that God “shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain.” This scripture gives me great peace because it assures me that the pain of this present age is temporary.
The coming of Christ also stirs in me a strong desire to live a holy and pleasing life before God. Knowing that Jesus can return at any time helps me remain spiritually alert and intentional in my walk with Him. It reminds me that my life should not be consumed only by earthly pursuits and temporary pleasures, but by eternal values. Whenever I think of His return, I examine my heart and ask myself whether I am truly living for Him and representing Him faithfully in my generation.
Another thing I feel when I think about Christ’s return is excitement about finally seeing Him face to face. As believers, we love a Savior we have never physically seen. We worship Him, pray to Him, trust Him, and build our lives around Him by faith. But one day, faith will become sight. The thought that I will one day behold Jesus in His glory fills my heart with overwhelming joy. I imagine the beauty of standing before the One who died for me, saved me, sustained me, forgave me, and loved me unconditionally. No earthly experience can compare to that moment.
The return of Christ also reminds me that God is faithful to His promises. Throughout Scripture, God consistently fulfilled His word, and the promise of Christ’s second coming will not fail. Jesus Himself said in John 14:3, “I will come again, and receive you unto myself.” This assurance strengthens my confidence in God, especially during difficult seasons. It reminds me that history is moving according to God’s divine plan and that evil will not prevail forever.
In addition, thinking about the coming of Christ gives me compassion for souls who do not yet know Him. It reminds me that time is short and that many people still need to hear the gospel. The reality of Christ’s return should not only produce excitement in believers but also urgency. It motivates me to share the message of salvation and to encourage others to come to Christ while there is still opportunity.
Finally, when I think of the coming of Christ, I think of victory. I think of the day when sin, darkness, death, and Satan will be completely defeated. I think of the fulfillment of God’s kingdom and the beginning of eternal fellowship with Him. The return of Christ is the believer’s blessed hope. It is the assurance that our labor in the Lord is not in vain and that a glorious eternity awaits us.
Therefore, whenever I contemplate the soon return of our Lord, my heart rejoices. It fills me with peace in troubled times, strength in difficult seasons, and hope for the future. More than anything else, it reminds me that this world is temporary, but Christ’s kingdom is eternal.
