The examples of Rebekah and Joseph serve as powerful reminders of the importance of serving others with a genuine attitude of service. Despite their different circumstances, both Rebekah and Joseph demonstrated remarkable faithfulness and selflessness in their service. Rebekah’s willingness to serve Eliezer, a stranger, and Joseph’s commitment to serving Potiphar, his master, demonstrate that true service is not about seeking personal gain or favor, but about putting the needs of others before our own. While Rebekah’s service led to a positive outcome, Joseph’s service landed him in prison, highlighting that the consequences of our service are not always within our control. Nevertheless, their examples inspire us to serve others with integrity, faithfulness, and humility, regardless of the circumstances or consequences. By doing so, we can demonstrate our love and commitment to God and to others.
